Thanks for reaching out
Congratulations on your engagement — and thank you for thinking of Jack Ham Imagery.
Choosing a wedding photographer is a strange thing to do. You're picturing a day that hasn't happened yet, and trusting someone you've probably never met to be there for it. A little overwhelm is normal.
This guide isn't asking you to decide anything right now. It's here so you can get a feel for how I work and whether it's the right fit — in your own time.
Standard on every collection. No fine print, no asking.
A bit about me
I'm Jack — husband to Mel, dad to Aria and Levi, and the photographer behind Jack Ham Imagery.
Mel and I met young and we have grown up together since. These days her role in the business has shifted too, from behind the camera to behind the scenes, though she's still very much part of how things run.
I don't see a wedding as a performance. It's one moment inside a much bigger story, and I know that because I've lived what comes after it.
That's the thought I carry into every wedding — not just to get good photos, but ones that still mean something once this version of you is a memory. I stay close enough to catch it, and quiet enough that you never feel watched.
At home, it's the two of us, our kids Aria and Levi, and our dog, Bali.
This isn't a footnote for me. It's part of how I work with every couple.
If that sounds like someone you'd want around on your wedding day, I'd love to hear from you.
Life moves quickly
On your wedding day, I'm thinking about how this will feel when you look back on it — not just how it looks right now.
A wedding lasts one day. The photographs from it become part of your family's history for the rest of your lives.
If a genuine moment and a "perfect" shot are ever in conflict, the moment wins. A few other things that guide how I work:
- Very little posing. A little gentle guidance when it helps, otherwise you'll barely notice the camera.
- If your timeline slips, I adjust quietly in the background. You're the last person who should feel it.
- Every recommendation is based on what suits your day, not what's easiest for me.
Here's what that looks like on the day.
What it's actually like to work with me
Working together starts before the wedding day. Once you've booked, I send through a timeline guide and a family photo planning guide, so we build your day's schedule and sort family photos properly, well before anything is a surprise on the morning of your wedding.
On the day itself, my job is to be genuinely easy to have around — present enough to catch what matters, quiet enough that you forget I'm there.
Afterwards, you're not left waiting — sneak peeks and your full gallery arrive on the timeline I mentioned in Chapter I, and everything stays online for 12 months.
None of this happens by accident. Most new couples arrive through a referral — a friend, a sister, someone who got married last year. That kind of trust isn't built through advertising. It's earned, wedding after wedding.

Photography and film, together
Every collection — photography, or photography with film — gets exactly the same care and attention. The only real difference is how much of your story you'd like captured, and whether you'd like it on film as well as in photographs.
Every film collection includes a cinematic highlight film, the full-length wedding film, guest messages, licensed music and drone footage where it's safe and permitted — delivered within eight weeks.
Photography only
Photography on its own is exactly the same experience, simply without film.
Every collection includes: a planning consultation and unlimited planning support, a timeline guide, a family photo planning guide, professional editing, a high-resolution and web-resolution gallery, personal printing rights, travel throughout my standard service regions — Sydney, the Hunter Valley, Newcastle, the Blue Mountains, the Southern Highlands, the South Coast and the Canberra region, with no travel fee — sneak peeks within 24 hours and full gallery delivery within four weeks.
The anniversary offer
To mark ten years married, I'd love to work with ten more couples on their Full Day collection.
Full Day was already the collection I'd recommend without hesitation — no cap on the hours, the morning through to the last song, nothing left out because the clock ran out. With this offer sitting over it for a limited run, it stops being a stretch and starts being the easy choice.
$2,000 off Full Day collections only. Open to the first 10 couples booking a 2027 wedding.
A few ways to personalise your day
None of these are the default — they're here for the couples they actually suit.
- A second photographer, when a larger guest list or two preparation locations mean an extra set of eyes helps — from $2,000.
- 35mm film, for a nostalgic, tactile addition alongside your digital gallery — from $300.
- Priority editing, jump the queue for a one week turnaround — $600.
- A standalone engagement session, for extra time in front of the camera beforehand — $600 (free with Full Day collections).
- Drone coverage, included wherever weather, venue rules and CASA regulations allow it.
We'll talk through what actually suits your day, and leave out anything that doesn't.
Your story, in print
An album turns your wedding day into something you can hold, not just something you own the rights to. It sits on a shelf. It gets pulled out for family, for anniversaries, for the day your kids ask what your wedding was actually like.
Every album is a 12×12-inch handcrafted linen album with a matte image-printed linen cover, premium matte ivory layflat paper, a professionally designed layout and two rounds of design revisions included. Every Full Day collection includes a $200 credit toward any album above.
Legacy is the recommended album for most full wedding stories — enough space to tell the whole day without overcrowding a page.
Good questions, honestly answered
Ready when you are
If this feels like the right fit, here's what happens next:
- Have a read through this guide — no rush, no pressure.
- We'll organise a relaxed video call or coffee catch-up to talk through your day properly.
- If it feels like a good fit, a signed contract and initial payment secures your date.
- From there, I'm with you for every step of the planning.
If this feels right, I'd love to hear from you. Whatever you decide, I hope the planning ahead feels exciting rather than stressful — and if we end up working together, I can't wait to be part of your day.
Jack
