Some weddings have joy that builds slowly through the day. Dimi and Aqeela's wasn't one of them. Theirs started early, held all day and somehow kept climbing every hour that followed.
The pair met while Aqeela was travelling through South Africa with her family, and their wedding at Shaw Estate in Murrumbateman brought loved ones together from across the globe to mark the next chapter. Wherever you looked there was laughter, easy connection and a room full of people who clearly adored these two.
The morning had music and energy running through it, and the dance floor barely emptied from the moment it opened. Even the speeches carried more energy than I am used to seeing. As the sun started dropping over the vines, Dimi and Aqeela slipped away with me for a few quiet minutes, a Canberra sunset and a champagne spray, before heading back to the people waiting to keep celebrating with them.
I shot this one alongside Adrian from Timeless Creations, and it was a privilege to be part of a day this full of family, love and genuine fun.
