Kim & Simon

Kim and Simon were married at Settlers Mulgoa on a day that looked, for a while, like it might not cooperate. Rain moved through in the hours before the ceremony, and there was a quiet nervous energy in the air as everyone waited to see what the sky would do.

The night before, Kim had planned to plant sausages in the garden for good luck, a bit of new age folklore she'd picked up online, but realised too late she'd forgotten to actually buy any. Without missing a beat, she printed out pictures of sausages instead and planted those in the garden. Whatever the science behind it, it worked. The rain eased right as the ceremony began and stayed away for the rest of the day.

There was an ease between Kim and Simon that made the whole day feel unhurried. They'd first met me as strangers at a consultation, and by the time their wedding came around it felt more like catching up with mates than working with clients.

Settlers Mulgoa gave us a beautiful, relaxed backdrop for the day, gardens to wander through, soft afternoon light and plenty of space for the two of them to just be together between all the moments they'd planned for.

Kim and Simon were warm, easygoing and clearly building a life together that suits them completely. It was such a special wedding to be part of and one I will not forget anytime soon.
