Megan & Rhys
"Couldn’t have asked for a better person to shoot our day. Very laid back, yet professional and cracked a fair few jokes which helped calm the nerves a hell of a lot!" – Rhys.
Megan and Rhys were married at Château Élan in the Hunter Valley on a warm, clear afternoon.
They chose to begin the day with a private first look. It was simple and quiet. You could see the nerves in Rhys at first, then the relief and joy as he turned and saw Megan. Moments like that do not need direction. They just need space.
The ceremony was held in the chapel on the grounds, with rose petals lining the aisle and soft light filtering through the windows. The setting was elegant but unforced. What stood out most was how present they were with each other.
Their bridal party brought plenty of energy, and the afternoon portraits felt relaxed rather than staged. There was laughter, movement and the kind of ease that comes when everyone feels comfortable.
As the sun dropped behind the valley, cocktail hour settled into long conversations and a slower rhythm. The reception carried that same balance. Refined but genuine. Well styled but still personal.
Megan and Rhys created a day that felt true to them from start to finish. Not over produced. Not performative. Just steady, joyful and grounded in connection.
