Dana & Mark

“Jack was the amazing photographer who captured our wedding day. Mark and I are not very comfortable in front of the camera; however, he made us laugh and feel so relaxed and comfortable that he was able to capture the most amazing photos of the day! Throughout the whole day, he made sure we were happy, laughing, and comfortable, as well as making sure all the important family members were captured. Could not recommend him more!”

Dana and Mark were married in a traditional Russian Orthodox ceremony at St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Fairfield.

They chose to enter the ceremony together, a simple but meaningful decision that reflected their partnership. Surrounded closely by family and friends throughout the service, they exchanged vows beneath the ceremonial crowns. The moment felt considered and rooted in tradition without ever feeling distant.

One of the lighter moments came when Mark’s mother presented them with the traditional bread loaf. They took their bites at the same time, the old superstition suggesting whoever takes the larger bite becomes head of the household. I have a feeling Dana may have taken that title.

The celebration continued at Panorama House in Wollongong with wide coastal views and a room filled with people who clearly knew them well. Their first dance included indoor pyrotechnics and a soft haze that added atmosphere without overshadowing the moment.

Dana and Mark described themselves as awkward in front of the camera, but that was far from the reality. Once they relaxed, everything felt natural. Comfortable. Unforced. Their connection did the rest.

Their wedding was a balance of tradition and personality, grounded in family and genuine presence.
